Cape Kid Meals was overwhelmed with generous gifts and new partnerships in 2017.  Read more to learn how local businesses and associations have really lent their support to our program. We are continuing to grow and new schools are coming on board, and these gifts are helping us create a foundation that will allow Cape Kid Meals to serve more children.

Ring Bros. Marketplace is providing 600 pieces of fresh fruit weekly to Cape Kid Meals to include in our food bags. This gift enables us to use funds that would otherwise be spent on fruit, to feed more children. In addition, Ring Bros. has invited Cape Kid Meals to featured at their various festivals throughout the year and all raffle ticket proceeds have been donated to Cape Kid Meals. We look forward to continuing our partnership with Ring Bros.!

BJ’s teamed up with the 2017 Legends Tour Event and donated $10,000 to Cape Kid Meals. The Legends Tour is the official senior tour of the LPGA. This was an incredible event and Cape Kid Meals was honored to be part of it!

Sundancer’s Celebration of Life Event to honor Gary Abramson

Sundancer’s put on a wonderful Celebration of Life Event honoring Gary Abramson. All proceeds raised were donated to select charities, including Cape Kid Meals. Gary’s brother Joel and his wife Mary generously matched the donations. Cape Kid Meals received $10,000 from this event and this money will ensure that we can continue to support the children currently on the program and help us as we expand.

I.A.F.F Teams up with Homeless for the Holidays

Firefighters from Cotuit, Centerville, Osterville, Marstons Mills, Barnstable and West Barnstable stayed outside from Dec 6th until Dec 10th participating in the annual Homeless for the Holidays. They collected toys, clothes, food and cash donations and selected Cape Kid Meals to receive $750.00.

Cape Cod Express partners with Cape Kid Meals

Cape Cod Express has generously donated their time and trucks to help Cape Kid Meals with transporting food from Greater Boston Food Bank to our local packing centers. Cape Kid Meals gets approximately 50% of the food used for our food bags from the Greater Boston Food Bank and this requires picking up pallets in our cars and transporting them to our packing centers. As we have grown, our food orders have increased, making this a challenge. We are beyond grateful for this partnership!

For the second year in a row, Cooperative Bank of Cape Cod has provided Cape Kid Meals with the bags we use to pack the food.

This year, ASAP Printing who produces these great bags, also donated a portion of the packing bags to support our growing numbers. This gift has saved Cape Kid Meals a significant amount of money that would have been spent on purchasing bags. The money saved has enabled Cape Kid Meals to expand the number of children served. We are very thankful for this generous gift!

The Massachusetts Dental Society has partnered with Cape Kid Meals for the second year in a row to provide dental kits.

These child friendly kits include a toothbrush, dental floss, brushing timer and toothpaste in bright colors. Many of the children we serve do not have regular access to dental care and these kits will help to improve their oral health. We are able to distribute these kits 4 times a year!
